Tussle.

Strangest of calls last week (yes, again, I am blogging from work. Work has decided to throw me some work, asking me to draft some note on some workforce engagement plan for British healthcare workers. Something I can do in my sleep. zzzz. I digress ... )

Anyway, strangest of calls last week. Got an email from HEC Paris, asking me why I'm not attending their institution (apparently, HEC's yield rate is 70 per cent, which is fairly high). I told them that I am going to Oxford instead. What followed was a 25-minute phone conversation from France with HEC's Admissions director / manager person. Post-conversation, this Admissions guy rounded up a troop of people (via email), who are all HEC alumni, and want them to convince me to go to HEC instead of Oxford. The absolute creamer was that these folks even managed to round up an ex-Oxford alumni to talk me out of attending Oxford!

I did have a moment of weakness of Thursday - suddenly, I had all these men, who coincidentally held VP positions in the banking industry, telling me what to do. I flailed for a bit.

Re-positioned myself over the weekend. Oxford it is.

By the way, I wish Oxford would have an Open Day event for the incoming 2008-09 class ... I mean, HEC Paris is having its reception at the French Open. Three free tennis matches and a reception near Centre Court. MAN. And, here I am, trying to organise / wrangle an event for the 08/09 class in norteamericano (hopefully with some support from the school) . Might be a wee bit of a pain.
